The Field Interview System is an automated file that has a record for each person that is interviewed in the field. People are generally"field interviewed " because they are found in suspicious circumstances.  Therefore, the people in this file have the potential to be suspects at a later date.  There are several names on one field interview card for when than one person is at the location of the field interview.  It is important that these names be associated to each other.  Because of this, all names are kept in the same automated record and associated with one another through the Master Name File.
